Job Description
Role Overview: A luxury hospitality group known for sophisticated escapes and unique guest experiences offers dynamic career opportunities to positive, vibrant, and energetic individuals. The Financial Controller is responsible for providing financial control support to the assigned Financial Accountant and Financial Manager, primarily through data capturing and processing, cost control, and reconciliations across business units.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure all invoices have approved orders attached before processing and capturing on Sage Evolution
- Perform first-level review of supplier reconciliations for all suppliers reflected on the age analysis
- Load suppliers as beneficiaries on the Nedbank platform
- Create payment requisitions and attach invoices, reconciliations, and Evolution supplier ledger to payment batches
- Load payments into Nedbank and route to authorised team members for checking and release (weekly and monthly payments)
- Conduct petty cash counts and complete monthly reconciliations
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll information (including tips and commission schedules) to the payroll department each month
- Prepare ad-hoc customer invoices and ensure monthly billing cycles are completed accurately and on time
- Assist with performing monthly spot checks on operational asset register lists and stock counts
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Apply sound knowledge of VAT processing and its implications
- Complete monthly customs duty submissions
- Audit, control, and process supplier invoices in accordance with the financial manual
- Prepare full creditors audit files for review by the senior Finance Team prior to external audits
- Support the business with ad-hoc financial requests, ensuring information provided is accurate, high-quality, and delivered within required timeframes
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years accounting experience
- Hospitality experience advantageous (Protel PMS)
- Sage Evolution experience advantageous
- Intermediate MS Office proficiency
- Nedbank platform experience advantageous
Inherent Requirements:
- Matric Certificate
- Financial Diploma advantageous
- Strong attention to detail
- Customer service orientation
- Effective planning and organising skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Preference for candidates from Franschhoek and neighbouring areas
