Stellenbosch: Waiter (Fixed term)

The ideal candidate for this position is well-versed in serving distinguished clientele, has great communication skills and is no stranger to exceptional service. Core Criteria: Must have grade 12, a relevant hospitality qualification would be beneficial At least 3 – 5 years of waitering experience in a luxury environment Basic knowledge of wine and the surrounding wine region Basic math skills, hands-on cash register experience, and knowledge on ordering information systems Must be well-presented with an enthusiastic personality Flexible, accountable individual with excellent interpersonal skills RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure table setup: linen, silverware, glasses Greet guests at their assigned tables, ensuring they have food and wine menus Must know all menu items, ingredients used and preparation methods Accurately take orders using POS system, and deliver within time limits Make sure the kitchen & bar have received the orders Clearing of dirty cutlery and crockery when guests are done with them Upsell by offering coffees and desserts Make sure the restaurant is clean and hygienic Uniform must always be clean This is a live-out position.
