Job Description
An established remote wilderness lodge is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Field Guide to deliver exceptional guest experiences through guided nature-based activities. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about conservation, guest engagement, and interpreting the natural environment in a professional and engaging manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct guided nature drives, walks, and outdoor experiences in line with safety and conservation best practices
- Interpret fauna, flora, geology, and local ecology for guests in an engaging and informative way
- Ensure guest safety at all times while maintaining high hospitality standards
- Assist with general lodge operations where required, including guest interactions and activity planning
- Maintain guiding equipment, vehicles, and related assets in good working condition
- Uphold conservation ethics and promote responsible tourism
- Contribute positively to the team culture and guest experience
Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications

Nature Site Guide qualification (NQF Level 2) essential

Valid guiding license and up-to-date Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

Valid First Aid certification

Strong knowledge of local flora, fauna, and ecosystems

Excellent communication and guest engagement skills

Ability to work independently in a remote environment
