About the Role
Wild Dreams Hospitality is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Guide Couple to join our team at Timbavati Lodge. As part of our guiding team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences and sharing your knowledge of the bush with our visitors. If you have a passion for wildlife and excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct guided walks with a strong focus on safety, tracking, and guest engagement
- Deliver exceptional game drives and share in-depth knowledge of the bush
- Provide high-level hosting and guest relations throughout guest stay
- Assist with general lodge duties as part of the guiding team
- Maintain and care for all guiding equipment, rifles, and vehicles
- Contribute to daily reserve monitoring and reporting where needed
- Support conservation-minded practices and uphold lodge guiding standards
- Assist guests with photography, offering tips and positioning for optimal sightings
- Represent the lodge professionally at all times
Requirements
- FGASA Trails Guide qualification (Lead Trails preferred)
- FGASA qualification with necessary add-ons (ARH, First Aid, DEAT/THETA etc.)
- Previous experience guiding in a Big 5 reserve
- Dangerous game experience on foot
- Strong safety awareness and situational judgement
- Valid driver’s licence and PDP
- Excellent guest interaction and hosting skills
- Experience and passion for wildlife photography (advantageous)
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Qualifications
- FGASA Trails Guide qualification (Lead Trails preferred)
- FGASA qualification with necessary add-ons (ARH, First Aid, DEAT/THETA etc.)
- Valid driver’s licence and PDP
- Matric certification
