About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner to join our manufacturing team in Tongaat, KZN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of quality products.

Job Description:

The Production Planner will play a key role in ensuring that production processes are optimized to meet customer demands while minimizing downtime and waste. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Key

Responsibilities:

• Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain accurate production plans to meet customer requirements and business goals.
• Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure smooth production flow.
• Capacity Planning: Assess production capacity and recommend adjustments as needed to align with demand forecasts.
• Order Management: Coordinate with sales, procurement, and production teams to prioritize and execute orders efficiently.
• Workflow Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in production and work with teams to resolve them effectively.
• Reporting: Generate and maintain reports on production performance, inventory levels, and order fulfillment.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate production processes to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in production planning within a manufacturing environment (experience in steel or packaging industries is an advantage).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., SAP, ERP systems) and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve production challenges.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in planning and scheduling.
