About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned hotel manager to lead our flagship property in Umhlanga, renowned for its luxurious amenities and stunning Indian Ocean views. As General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all core departments and driving business growth through effective operational leadership and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all core departments (Rooms, Maintenance, Finance, and Security) for a 127-unit inventory
  • Take ownership of the technical infrastructure of a high-rise building, including lift systems, cooling towers, and OPEX related to coastal corrosion and high-humidity environments
  • Manage the multi-floor conference destination, including three noise-dampening, multi-purpose rooms and a spectacular rooftop viewing deck
  • Ensure flawless execution for up to 300 delegates
  • Drive RevPAR by leveraging the property’s location near Busamed Hospital, the KZN Sharks Board, and the Gateway business node
  • Maintain elite Guest Satisfaction Index (GSI) scores, focusing on luxury-contemporary feel of the 3rd-floor pool deck and seamless high-speed Wi-Fi requirements for business travelers

Requirements

  • 810 years in senior hospitality leadership, with at least 5 years as a General Manager of a 4-star or 5-star urban high-rise or resort
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, sub-divisible banquet halls and rooftop event spaces
  • Familiarity with high-rise building management and PMS is essential

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field (if applicable)
