About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Technical Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of solar installations, including preventative and corrective maintenance, and ensuring maximum availability and performance ratio of the solar installation.
Key Responsibilities
• Assisting with all Solar installations
• Issuing Electric certification (electrical background beneficial)
• Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on solar installations while following HSE procedures
• Reporting on all events related to solar installations
• Training staff on installations
• Evaluating new products and services
• Pricing comparisons to competitors to be market-related
• Meeting potential customers and suppliers
• Building relationships and trust with suppliers and customers
• Site meetings and visits
• Preparing and sending customer quotes
• Following up on issued quotations, closing the deal
• Interacting with group management and finance team
• Ordering materials, arranging delivery and collection
• Overseeing installation on site
• Directing teams on what to do
• Commissioning the system
• Conducting after-service call outs
• Repairs on existing installations, PV- systems, and water heating systems
Requirements
• Excel “must”
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Knowledge and experience in solar and solar geyser installations
• Electrical background beneficial
• Technical skills: good understanding and perception of integrated system and effective fault-finding techniques
• Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
• Ability to follow correct processes and procedures
• Handling multiple projects, prioritizing work, and working effectively under limited supervision
