West Coast: Electrical Technician – West Coast

My client a company located on the West Coast (Saldanha / Vredenburg) is looking to employ an experienced Electrical Technician to join their team as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Senior Electrical Technician. To qualify for this position the most suitable candidate must fulfill the following requirements: JOB REQUIREMENTS: S4 Electrical Engineering or an Equivalent Qualification as per the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and RPL – SAQA would be considered. A minimum of 5 years experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment. Must have Siemens PLC experience or similar system. Instrumentation experience will be an added advantage. Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic drawings and diagrams. Must have Supervisory skills, with the ability to transfer knowledge to students and apprentices. Must have a valid and unendorsed drivers license. Basic/Brief Job Functions/Responsibilities: Performs planned and unplanned maintenance on all electrical and electronic equipment and machinery, including Semiens drives. Electrical Systems Upgrades. Must be able to Setup, Program and do Faultfinding on S5/S7 Siemens PLC, Siemens Master Drives and Intouch HMI systems. Involved in the smooth running and optimization of the equipment and plant. Performs condition monitoring on equipment and machinery and analysis the efficiency. Must be able and willing perform standby and call out duties and get to work. In addition to the above the successful candidate must also have the following attributes : Positive with energetic attitude; highly self-motivated; good communicator; good “work ethic”; good faultfinding and problem-solving skills, able to work in a team as well as individually and must have sober habits.
