About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper/Junior Finance Manager to join our team at Communicate Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing full-function bookkeeping, including cashbook processing, reconciliations, VAT submissions, and maintaining the asset register. This role requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-function bookkeeping up to trial balance
- Process cashbook and perform reconciliations
- Submit VAT returns and maintain asset register
- Oversee creditors and debtors functions, ensuring accurate processing and payments
- Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with payroll inputs
- Support month-end and year-end processes
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls
- Resolve financial queries from suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Supervise two finance team members
- Provide ad-hoc financial and operational reporting to the Managing Director
Requirements
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and full-function accounting
- Solid experience in creditors, debtors, VAT, reconciliations, cashbook, and trial balance
- Proficiency in Sage, VIP Payroll, and IQ Retail (advantageous)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and numerical aptitude
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Minimum 3–5 years’ full-function bookkeeping experience
Qualifications
NDip or BCom qualification in Finance or Accounting
