About the Role
As a Citrus Farm Manager at Vine Recruitment in Citrusdal, you will be responsible for overseeing daily farm activities to ensure optimal citrus yields and quality. You will also be in charge of managing water supply and irrigation systems, as well as implementing horticultural best practices. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day farm activities to ensure optimal citrus yields and quality
- Oversee water supply and irrigation systems to meet horticultural needs and implement engineering best practices
- Supervise labor, including training, supervision, performance management, and staff development
- Implement production plans for each board, including actions such as weed control, pruning, and sanitation
- Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including labor hours, fuel, crop records, chemical supplies, and maintenance logs
- Ensure compliance with standard management practices and company policies when using equipment and infrastructure
- Collaborate with other departments, including technical-, engineering-, warehouse-, and administrative teams, to ensure smooth operations and optimal quality
Requirements
- Relevant management experience in citrus production or similar crops
- Good knowledge of citrus crops, production, and protection, as well as irrigation and watering practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a focus on effectiveness and productivity
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team
- Physical abilities to work in a farm environment
Qualifications
- Formal education or certification in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field (if applicable)
