About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at the University of Cape Town Lung Institute (Pty) Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing datasets, providing statistical support, and advising investigators on research methods. This 12-month fixed-term contract is based at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, and we offer a competitive salary.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing datasets for investigators and students
- Providing statistical support to investigators and students by running specific analyses
- Advising investigators and students on statistical approaches to research questions
- Data quality control (including input into quality control systems and creating feedback reports)
- Developing and maintaining REDCap-based databases, and reporting from such databases
Requirements
- Master’s degree in statistics, epidemiology, demography or public health (with a strong quantitative focus)
- Previous clinical research and statistical analysis experience (minimum 3 years)
- Knowledge of STATA, and ability to work In R or other statistical packages
- Data management experience with electronic platforms such as REDCap
