Job Description:
Compose the Carnival’s Rhythm: Architect, build, and maintain the high-performance data systems and infrastructure that process millions of real-time financial events
Direct the Flow of the Parade: Engineer robust, scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) that ensure flawless movement from source to insight, keeping the celebration in perfect time
Tune the Instruments of Insight: Optimize databases, streaming platforms, and compute clusters to handle the crescendo of market data with grace and speed
 
Skills & Experience:
Mastery of the Instruments: Expert proficiency in data engineering stack components (e.g., Python, Java, SQL, Kafka, Spark, cloud data platforms)
An Ear for the Beat: Deep understanding of low-latency systems, distributed computing, and real-time data processing within a demanding financial environment
A Conductor’s Precision: Proven experience designing systems for high availability, resilience, and auditable accuracy
The Spirit of the Samba: The ability to thrive in a vibrant, collaborative, and fast-paced environment where precision meets passion
 
Qualification:
Tertiary qualification preferred

A degree in Industrial Engineering—because someone needs to be the Less Grinchy around here, and it sure isn’t me
Minimum 5+ years building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines that slurp data from IoT meters, SCADA systems, and those dreadfully cheerful financial platforms
Experience crafting relational and non-relational databases/data warehouses robust enough to survive an avalanche off Mount Crumpit
The ability to build APIs and integrations so smooth they might actually make me smile. (Don’t get used to it.)
Expertise performing data quality checks, anomaly detection, and reconciliation routines—because messy data makes my heart shrink even smaller
Proven experience deploying AI/ML models for forecasting, optimisation, and spotting anomalies faster than I can spot a Who caroler
Skills supporting financial and technical modelling A problem-solving mind sharper than my icicle collection—and hopefully less bitter
