Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a professional Debtors Clerk to join our Finance team and ensure that all accounts receivable operations are accurate, timely, and guest-focused. The successful candidate will manage debtor accounts, liaise with clients, and support the financial integrity of the hotel while fostering excellent relationships with guests, corporate clients, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate debtor accounts, ensuring timely invoicing and follow-up on outstanding balances
Liaise with individual guests, corporate clients, and travel agents regarding invoices, statements, and queries
Prepare debtor reconciliations, allocate payments, and generate age analysis reports for review
Implement credit policies, monitor account limits, and escalate overdue accounts per hotel procedures
Collaborate with Reservations, Front Office, and Events teams to ensure billing accuracy for accommodation, conferences, banquets, and other services
Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial controls, statutory regulations, and company standards
Provide regular reports on debtor status, overdue accounts, and trends to Finance leadership

Requirements

Matric certificate (Grade 12)
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in debtors/accounts receivable, with hotel industry experience essential
Proficiency in Opera PMS (essential)
Strong Excel and financial reconciliation skills
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
Professional, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
South African citizen with a valid ID

Qualifications

Finance qualification or diploma advantageous
No formal education mentioned
