About the Role
We’re seeking a Maintenance Foreman, reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, to lead and coordinate the hotel’s maintenance team. This role is key to ensuring our property operates to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, conduct briefings, and ensure attendance and conduct standards
- Guide technicians in troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues; review completed work for quality and safety
- Ensure PPM schedules are met; manage reactive maintenance tasks via OMNI with timely follow-up and closure
- Enforce health and safety regulations; conduct risk assessments and incident reports when required
- Oversee tools, equipment, and consumables; ensure accountability and readiness of resources
- Act as the point of contact for other departments; coordinate access for maintenance tasks in guest and public areas
Requirements
- Trade Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing (Red Seal preferred)
- Additional leadership, supervisory, or OHS training advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in building maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Hospitality or luxury property experience strongly preferred
- Strong technical knowledge across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems
Qualifications
- Trade Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing (Red Seal preferred)
- Additional leadership, supervisory, or OHS training advantageous
- Valid South African ID
