Responsibilities:

  • Daily updating of various spreadsheets
  • Daily monitoring of corporate actions, cash and performance
  • Conducting quarterly rebalancing of trackers
  • Trading of local and offshore carveout portfolios according to the model
  • Send trade notes to advisory clients within 3 days of executing bulk trades.
  • Send corporate action notifications to clients at least 5 days before broker deadline date
  • Send market insights via outlook before 3pm every Monday
  • Send monthly market perspectives before the 20th of each month/market commentary relevant for factsheets
  • Ad hoc requests for assistance from internal stakeholders
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Meet deadlines

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or investment related qualification
  • 0-3 years’ experience in an investment administration/finance-related role
  • Personal interest in investment markets
  • Career goal to be an equity analyst/portfolio manager
  • Experience in dealing with share portfolios
  • Experience within a family office or wealth management environment preferred
  • Advanced Excel, MS Word, & PowerPoint
  • Advantageous: Morningstar, Factset/Bloomberg, eCube, DMA OPUS, Stockbroker online systems (FNB, Investec and SBG)
  • Critical thinker, analytical, attention to detail, technically minded, and a quick learner
  • Team player
  • Writing skills, emotional intelligence, ability to prioritise and to meet deadlines essential
