Faircape Health | In-Patient Sub-Acute Rehabilitation Facility Faircape Health, a division of the Faircape Group, operates a portfolio of luxury lifestyle retirement villages and world-class healthcare centres across the Western Cape. Our in-patient sub-acute rehabilitation facilities provide integrated, patient-centred care for individuals recovering from complex medical conditions, supported by highly experienced multidisciplinary teams. We are seeking a registered Psychologist to join an established private practice as an Associate , based within one of our in-patient sub-acute rehabilitation healthcare facilities, Tokai Estate. This role is ideal for a psychologist who enjoys working within a collaborative medical environment and is passionate about supporting patients through recovery, adjustment, and rehabilitation. The position is part-time (1015 hours per week) , with flexibility in how these hours are structured and scheduled. Key Responsibilities Provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, formulation, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for in-patients with medical healthcare conditions Deliver individual and family psychotherapy, as well as psychoeducation, tailored to patients clinical and rehabilitation needs Work closely within a multidisciplinary team, actively participating in MDT meetings to support holistic patient care Consult and collaborate with medical, nursing, therapy, and allied healthcare professionals Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, discharge summaries, and reports Manage administrative responsibilities efficiently, including billing and compliance with relevant healthcare and practice systems Minimum Requirements Current, valid registration with the HPCSA as a Psychologist Registration category must be Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist, or Neuropsychologist Preferred Experience: 25 years experience working as an independent or associate practitioner Experience working within healthcare or medical settings Experience working with patients presenting with a broad range of medical pathologies, including: Cardiac Orthopaedic Palliative care Oncology Working knowledge of EDI billing systems, particularly Healthbridge Clinical Strong communication skills and a collaborative, patient-centred approach Skills and Attributes: Compassionate, patient-centred approach with strong clinical judgement Sound assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and clinicians Professional, ethical, and confidential practice aligned to HPCSA standards Well-organised, able to manage clinical and administrative responsibilities efficiently Comfortable working independently within a structured healthcare environment Specific Requirements Clear health, criminal, and credit record. Two written references. Above market-related salary. The amount offered will be dependent on qualifications, experience and other market related factors.
