Job Summary
You will be reporting to the Safety Manager and working closely with the Site Management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring health and safety compliance across the site.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Editing, reviewing and implementation of company policies, plans and procedures
- Coordinate and participate in incidents investigation
- Emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in any emergency
- Provide detailed audit reports with findings. Identify non-conformities and provide corrective action measures to prevent re-occurrence
- Editing, reviewing and implementing group campaigns on site
- Conduct site specific risk assessments
- Advising site team on safety related matters (Stats, trends, indicators etc)
- Submit monthly reports to safety manager and site manager
- Report incidents and near misses to the Group HSE system
- Organise and coordinate SHE committee, look ahead and safety meetings
Minimum
Requirements:
- SAMTRAC /Safety management Diploma/NEBOSH
- Certified as a Safety Officer (CHSO) SACPCMP Registration (CHSO)
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role
- HIRA/Incident investigation/first aid certificates will be advantageous
- Strong background in construction safety and OHSA compliance
- Flexibility to work weekends when required
- Driver’s License code 8
- Extensive Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines successfully
- Show commitment to teamwork and a willingness to go the extra mile to achieve team objectives
- Proficient communicator
- Strong attention to details and great eye for safety
- Confident and self-starting capabilities
