Job Summary
Roles and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Take a senior role in the development of operator-facing application software for mission-critical systems.
- Own features from requirements gathering through to design, implementation, and testing—across both front-end and back-end environments.
- Conduct domain and technology research to ensure effective implementation of user requirements.
- Support production-related efforts for the application software team.
- Deliver key project outputs, including designs, tests, documentation, production, and verification artefacts.
- Follow the company’s engineering processes, plans, and policies.
- Participate in internal support roles, as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (BSc) or Engineering (BSc Eng. / BEng).
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., C++, Java).
- Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design and software patterns.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion, Perforce).
- Experience in Agile development environments and issue tracking (e.g., Jira).
Advantageous Skills and Experience
- 3–7 years of relevant industry or postgraduate experience.
- Experience with modern C++, especially C++11 and later.
- Familiarity with markup languages and associated technologies such as XML, XSLT, JSON, YAML.
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (MSc / MEng).
General Competencies
- Strong ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Effective team collaboration on large-scale projects.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
