Hire Resolve`s client, a leading mining company, is currently seeking a skilled Mine Overseer to join their team in Westonaria, Gauteng.

Requirements

• Gr 12 or Equivalent
• Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency
• At least five (5) years mine overseer experience in a deep level trackless mine
• Proven expertise in overseeing delivery of operational SHE campaigns
• Sound working knowledge of relevant Mine Health & Safety legislation
• Proven track record in delivering operational projects and leading contract work
• Secure full Security and Related Occupational Screening
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment
• Pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicants suitability for employment

Duties and

• Maintain effective people management practice by ensuring that roles and competencies are clearly defined, and that effective team delivery is maintained
• Coach and guide front line leaders (FLL) to assume and maintain effective and direct leadership accountability over their operational teams in respect of safety management, shift planning, work assignment and direction, planned task observations, etc.
• In conjunction with the FLL, coordinate and advise on optimal team assignment relative to planned operational, production and related work cycles to ensure optimal safe and effective task delivery
• In conjunction with the FLL, coordinate and advise on operational logistics including stores, materials handling, equipment maintenance preparation and servicing to ensure end to end task planning, elimination of delays, etc.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, environmental, regulatory and related standards
• Ensure the establishment of safe, efficient and proper operation/use of all machinery, equipment and infrastructure identifying areas of remedial intervention as required
• Schedule and conduct operational safety, safe work practice, operational delivery, etc. inspections identifying areas of remedial intervention as required
• Actively provide and demonstrate Visible Felt Leadership in line with safety, health and environmental standards
• Actively execute and monitor the application of various operational SHE campaigns
• Participate in and contribute toward the development, adjustment and execution of operational plans and schedules
• Participate in collaborative cross-functional team activities to share best practice, drive technical excellence and enhance sustainable commercial decision making
• Investigate and analyse operational delivery effectiveness with a view to recommending and developing collaborative and innovative solutions to optimise the interfaces between teams, processes and systems
• Contribute toward the development and execution of operational improvement and related projects
• Manage and monitor operational financial budgeting and management
• Manage relationships with key internal, Business Partner and external stakeholders by ensuring broad accountability is maintained against operational delivery, service level, commercial, community and ethical standards and, resolve issues and/or escalating issues in a timely manner
