Job Summary
Operate a lathe machine
Set up and calibrate the lathe machine, including loading materials and ensuring secure mounting
Install, align, and adjust cutting tools to meet required specifications
Ensure materials are safely and securely clamped onto the machine
Operate the lathe to cut, shape, drill, bore, or finish materials according to design specifications
Regularly check and maintain the lathe machine and associated tools
Lubricate, clean, and troubleshoot the lathe to prevent wear and ensure proper functionality
Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, ear protection)
Maintain a clean and organized workstation to ensure a safe working environment
Keep accurate records of machining operations, material usage, and adjustments
Report any issues with materials or machines to supervisors
Ensure that work is done according to the process instructions and the drawings
Skills & Experience:
Turner Trade Test
Conventional Lathe experience
Milling and Drilling experience
Energetic
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
Minimum
Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
