Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in construction engineering or management, preferably on large-scale or complex projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, methods, and legal regulations in the Netherlands and Europe.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
- Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).
Beneficial requirements:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle unforeseen challenges in a practical, solution-oriented manner.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of managing and motivating cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction projects from initial design through to completion, ensuring all technical aspects are adhered to.
- Develop project specifications, budgets, timelines, and schedules, managing resources to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Conduct site assessments, inspections, and surveys to identify potential construction challenges, recommending solutions to mitigate risks.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, quality standards, and Dutch and international construction codes.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to align on project goals and requirements.
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, working closely with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
