Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled and dynamic Relief Manager for a luxury game lodge based in the Greater Kruger area. This position is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional who enjoys a varied role, working across all departments and supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the lodge.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining high service standards, supporting the team, and ensuring guests receive a world-class safari experience.

Key

• Oversee day-to-day lodge operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery

• Uphold the brand and operational standards of the lodge at all times

• Act as the anchor in the absence of the Lodge Manager

• Support health and safety compliance throughout the property

• Assist with the lodge maintenance system and any team-related matters

• Manage and control stock levels across all departments

• Coordinate communication between departments to ensure smooth operations

• Provide support with central procurement, deliveries, and invoicing

• Handle daily administration duties

• Host guests and build strong guest rapport

Soft Skills:

• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and coach a large team

• Strong guest relations and interpersonal skills

• Clear and confident communicator

• Track record of meeting targets and goals

• Effective problem solver with sound decision-making skills

• High level of emotional intelligence

Technical Skills:

• Excellent command of English

• Computer literate and technologically savvy

• Basic accounting or bookkeeping knowledge (experience with Xero beneficial)

• Knowledge of reservation systems (Travelyst experience is an advantage)

• Strong proficiency in Excel is highly advantageous

• Minimum of 5 years in a similar relief, anchor, or assistant lodge management role

• Hospitality diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification

• Valid drivers licence

• Willingness to live on-site and work in a remote location

Position Details:

• Contract Type: Permanent

• Work Cycle: 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off

• Location: Greater Kruger
