Job Summary

Please note this role is based in the Middle East, Qatar, relocation sponsorship and expatriate benefits apply. To deliver high-quality legal education, contribute to academic scholarship through research and publications, and support the continued development of the Law Department. The role includes teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate law courses, supervising research, and participating in academic leadership, depending on rank. Eligibility: Open to All Nationalities Qualifications Required: Master’s Degree in Law (LLM or equivalent) PhD in Law or a related legal discipline Admission to a legal bar or professional legal qualification (advantageous) Demonstrated record of academic scholarship and publication (required for Associate Professor level) Experience: Assistant Professor : Minimum of 3–5 years of post-PhD teaching and research experience in legal education Associate Professor : Minimum of 8–10 years of teaching, research, and academic leadership Experience in curriculum development, legal research, and student mentoring Strong publication record in peer-reviewed law journals (essential for Associate level) Prior involvement in legal clinics, moot court supervision, or law reform (preferred) Key Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate law courses, seminars, and tutorials Design and update legal curriculum in line with modern legal developments and practices Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and thesis work Conduct high-quality legal research and publish in reputable academic journals Participate in departmental administration, committees, and academic planning Contribute to the academic community through service, outreach, and professional collaboration Mentor students and junior faculty Ensure legal education aligns with national and international academic standards Engage with external stakeholders including the legal profession and regulatory bodies Key Skills: Deep knowledge of core legal subjects (e.g., Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, International Law, Corporate Law, etc.) Strong legal research and academic writing abilities Effective and dynamic teaching and communication skills Experience with legal technology and online learning platforms Curriculum design and academic assessment expertise Cross-cultural competence and ability to work in a diverse academic environment Ability to engage in interdisciplinary teaching and research Leadership and mentoring abilities (particularly for Associate level)
