About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cloud services using AWS, crafting custom front ends across JavaScript frameworks, and supporting native Android builds. You will also have the opportunity to guide and mentor junior developers, improve engineering standards, and shape the company’s dev culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop cloud services in AWS using Terraform and Python
  • Craft multiple custom front ends across JavaScript frameworks
  • Support native Android builds and maintain app builds in Zoho Creator (Deluge)
  • Guide and mentor a team of developers
  • Improve engineering standards, shape the dev culture, and elevate how they build
  • Take a front row seat in system design
  • Help architect resilient, efficient solutions and strengthen DevOps practices from TDD to cloud infra

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or Python
  • Database management and complex external integrations skills
  • Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred)
  • Front-end frameworks such as Vue.js (UX experience is a bonus)
  • Test driven development (TDD) and strong developer workflows

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and related field
