Job Summary
Who are we: A business-to-business publishing house focusing on trade publications.
Who are we looking for: A talented and detail-oriented Journalist (B2B).
What will you do:
- Research and reporting: Investigate and report on current news, trends and developments impacting various niche industries within the B2B sector
- Interviewing: Conduct interviews with industry professionals, stakeholders and key figures to gather insights and quotes for news articles
- Writing: Produce well-written, compelling news stories tailored to the specific audience of each publication
- Industry knowledge: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the industries covered, including key regulations, market trends and emerging technologies within freight, travel, energy and ICT engineering
- Data interpretation: Analyse and interpret industry reports, technical documents and data to produce accurate, insightful articles
- Collaboration and teamwork: Work closely with editors, fellow writers and industry professionals, demonstrating strong collaboration and teamwork abilities to ensure high-quality content
- Meeting deadlines: Work efficiently to meet daily and weekly deadlines with precision and attention to detail
What will you need:
- Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience in journalism or a related field, with a portfolio showcasing published articles
- Applications are welcome from writers with varying levels of experience who can deliver impactful B2B news stories
- Ability to understand and report on niche industries (freight, travel, tourism, energy)
- Excellent command of the English language
- High attention to detail with the ability to self-edit effectively
- Comfortable with networking and building relationships within various industries
- Enjoys working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- Owns a car and holds a valid driving license, as travel will be required for interviews and industry events
