Job Summary
Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Data Architect with a strong finance background to join our Data & Analytics team. This is a unique opportunity to shape data architecture within a complex retail and financial ecosystem, enabling better decision-making across our business.
Role Purpose:
As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data architectures that support financial reporting, analytics, and compliance. You will work closely with business stakeholders, finance teams, and technical teams to align data solutions with business goals, particularly in the areas of financial performance, forecasting, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and maintain data architecture principles, models, and standards across financial domains.
Lead the design of end-to-end data solutions to support financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and audit requirements.
Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Business teams to ensure data consistency, quality, and accessibility.
Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Ensure alignment with the company’s enterprise architecture and governance frameworks.
Support integration of financial data across systems such as ERP (e.g. Oracle), BI tools, and data warehouses.
Provide technical leadership in data platform modernization initiatives, including cloud-based architecture.
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve data strategies.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
7+ years’ experience in data architecture or enterprise data roles, with at least 3 years in the finance domain.
Proven experience with enterprise data modelling, data warehousing, and integration in a complex business environment.
Strong understanding of financial systems, processes, and data (e.g. General Ledger, Cost Centre Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis).
Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP preferred).
Familiarity with tools such as SQL, Power BI, SAP BW/HANA, Informatica, or similar.
Experience working in the retail or FMCG industry is a plus.
