Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join the culinary team at a luxury safari lodge located in the stunning North West region of South Africa. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate pastry professional to bring their creativity to a high-end, hospitality-driven environment.

Requirements:

• Formal culinary qualification with a focus on pastry or baking

• Minimum 23 years experience in a pastry role, preferably within a luxury lodge or fine dining establishment

• Excellent knowledge of baking techniques, pastry arts, and dessert presentation

• Ability to create a wide range of pastries, cakes, tarts, breads, and plated desserts

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Able to work independently and as part of a team in a remote lodge setting

• Organised, reliable, and calm under pressure

• Willingness to live on-site and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present a variety of baked goods and desserts to a high standard

• Develop innovative and seasonal pastry menus in line with the lodges culinary offering

• Ensure consistent quality, portion control, and presentation of all pastry items

• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organised pastry section

• Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to coordinate service

• Assist in stock control, ordering, and cost management

• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
