Job Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing the preparation of financial statements, managing month-end processes, leading junior staff, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive individual with strong technical skills and a desire to grow within a reputable firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Handle general ledger reconciliation and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Assist in audits, both internal and external.
- Liaise with clients to provide financial insights and resolve queries.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Ensure timely submission of SARS returns (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax).
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification (SAIPA/SAICA registered or in progress preferred).
- Minimum 35 years of accounting experience, preferably within a public practice.
- Experience with CaseWare, Pastel, Xero, or similar accounting software.

- Ability to work independently and in a team.

Remuneration:
25K 30K
