Job Summary
- Must have the ability to read and write in English
- At least 2-4 years relative experience working with trucks or heavy-duty vehicles
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle maintenance
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks (e.g. truck cleaning, inspections)
- Attention to detail and ability to follow inspection checklists accurately
- Able to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability in handling company vehicles
- Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license (Code 10 or higher preferred, but not mandatory)
- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules. Required to be on standby and work overtime as needed
- Preferably someone who has their own transportation
- Computer literate
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections on trucks to ensure they meet safety and operational standards
- Perform quality checks and report any faults, damages, or maintenance needs
- Must have basic technical knowledge of trucks, including mechanical components and safety features
- Must be able to refuel trucks carefully and safely
- Accurately record diesel and petrol usage for each refuelling session
- Maintain logs showing how much fuel was filled, for which specific truck and company vehicle
- Monitor fuel usage patterns and report any irregularities or possible wastage
- Perform cleaning and washing of trucks to ensure vehicles are kept in a presentable and roadworthy condition
- Assist with pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any immediate issues
- Keep the yard and vehicle area clean and organised
- Good understanding of diesel usage and handling
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance tasks
Ability to work independently and follow a routine checklist
