My client, an Accounting and Auditing firm in the Southern Suburbs, seeks the assistance of an Accountant to join their team. In this role you will be responsible for the full accounting function to a portfolio of clients. Join a dynamic and supportive accounting team where you’ll be exposed to a variety of industries and clients Position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio and deliver the full accounting function while working in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment What you will be doing: Process client transactions including cheques, receipts, invoices Perform bank, petty cash, and cash control reconciliations Maintain fixed asset registers and post general journals Reconcile debtors and creditors statements Handle accounting for asset disposals and capital gains tax Analyse trial balances and perform analytical reviews of AFS Draft financial statements and prepare accompanying notes Calculate various tax liabilities and reconcile VAT Compile and present monthly management accounts to clients Manage provisional tax calculations and filings Maintain and build strong client relationships Meet monthly accounting and reporting deadlines Work independently on a portfolio while collaborating with leadership What we are looking for: Degree in Accounting (advantageous) Completed SAICA/AGA/SAIPA articles (advantageous) 2-4 years accounting experience Previous experience with MS Office (Outlook), Xero and Pastel Strong accounting and taxation knowledge Excellent communication and report writing skills Time management and organisational abilities Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritise and work under pressure Valid driver’s licence Benefits and unique aspects: Work closely with experienced managers and partners Exposure to a wide range of clients and industries Supportive team culture with professional development opportunities If you haven’t heard back from us within two weeks of submitting your application, unfortunately your application has not been successful this time.
