Job Summary

Minimum Requirements:

A National Diploma in Production Management, Project Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar managerial role within a manufacturing or feed production environment.
Familiarity with ISO 22000 Quality Management Systems.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP, MES or production planning systems is beneficial.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and lean management principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Oversight:
Plan and manage daily production schedules, ensuring maximum efficiency, resource allocation, and adherence to quality and output targets.
Quality & Compliance:
Enforce compliance with health, safety, and quality standards, ensuring all processes meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership:
Lead and develop a high-performing production team. Set clear roles, KPIs and performance goals. Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and overtime.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive production improvements through lean manufacturing techniques. Identify and resolve process bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
Reporting & Communication:
Compile and analyse production reports, including downtime, throughput, and capacity planning. Facilitate regular communication across departments including procurement, quality control, dispatch, and sales.
Equipment & Maintenance Coordination:
Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure effective preventative maintenance scheduling and minimal equipment downtime.
Documentation & Systems:
Maintain all production documentation and reporting within the business management system, ensuring accurate records and traceability.
