Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain boilers according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Conduct regular inspections of boilers and related equipment to identify and troubleshoot any issues
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, calibrating, and replacing parts as needed
- Monitor and adjust boiler controls to maintain proper temperature and pressure levels
- Respond to emergency repair requests and resolve mechanical or electrical malfunctions quickly and efficiently
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
- Coordinate with other maintenance and engineering staff to schedule downtime for maintenance, repairs, or upgrades
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to boiler operations
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Trade tested Boilermaker advantageous
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with industrial boilers
- Strong knowledge of boiler operation, maintenance, and repair techniques within the food/fmcg industry
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to boiler operation
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Valid boiler operator license or certification preferred
