Job Summary
This role requires a professional with a strong technical and analytical foundation who can build scorecard models from scratch, ensuring high-quality, data-driven credit decisioning in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and implement credit scoring models (PD, LGD, IFRS 9) using structured and alternative data sources.
- Develop machine learning and statistical models to enhance credit vetting processes.
- Perform data mining, feature engineering, and rigorous statistical testing on large datasets.
- Ensure seamless integration of models into operational environments in collaboration with credit, analytics, and technology teams.
- Document models in alignment with governance and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of modelling best practices within the business.
Requirements:
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (MSc/PhD in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Quantitative Risk, or similar).
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on credit risk modelling experience in banking or financial services.
- Proven ability to build scorecard models from scratch.
- Strong technical skills in Python, R, SQL, and SAS, with experience in advanced modelling techniques including GLMs, survival models, Markov models, or Cox-regression frameworks.
- Experience with model performance monitoring and governance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
