Job Description

Hire Resolve’s client, a consulting engineering company who specializes in Electrical Power Distribution and Reticulation, Electrical and Electronic Building Services, Mechanical Building Services, Energy Management and Fire Engineering, is searching for a  Mechanical Revit & CAD Draughts person to join their team in Durbanville.

????????????????:

  • Revit & CAD Drafting:

    • Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for HVAC, wet services, and fire protection using Revit and AutoCAD.

    • Ensure all drawings adhere to industry standards and company protocols.

  • Model Coordination:

    • Collaborate closely with other disciplines (electrical, structural, architectural) to ensure coordination across models.

    • Conduct clash detection and resolve issues with BIM models.

  • Drawing Documentation:

    • Prepare technical documentation, layout plans, schematics, and details for tender and construction phases.

    • Update models and drawings based on design changes and mark-ups.

  • Project Support:

    • Assist engineers with conceptual layouts and design development.

    • Attend internal project meetings to understand design requirements and timelines.

  • Standards and Quality Control:

    • Maintain consistency across projects by using office Revit templates and following CAD standards.

    • Conduct quality checks on drawings before submission.

  • Software and File Management:

    • Manage and organize project files, sheet sets, and drawing registers.

    • Ensure version control and correct file naming conventions.

  • Site and As-Built Drawings:

    • Occasionally assist in site measurement and preparation of as-built drawings.

Education & Training:

  • National Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Draughting, or Building Services.

  • Formal training in Revit MEP and AutoCAD (accredited institution or in-house training).

  • BIM/Revit certification (advantageous).

Software Proficiency:

  • Revit MEP advanced level.

  • AutoCAD proficient.

  • Navisworks, BIM 360, or similar BIM collaboration tools (advantageous).

  • Microsoft Office (basic proficiency for document control and communication).

Experience:

  • 3+ years of mechanical services draughting experience in the consulting engineering or construction industry.

  • Strong portfolio of HVAC, wet services, and fire protection layouts.

  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams on commercial, residential, or healthcare projects.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding of mechanical systems: HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection.

  • Familiarity with SANS and local building codes.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineers sketches, specifications, and architectural drawings.

Additional Skills:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.

  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

  • Time management and ability to work to deadlines.

  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative.
