Duties:

• Monitor and analyse security systems, finding and mitigating potential threats or breaches.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and enforce security policies, protocols, and best practices across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement and maintain secure network architecture.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for leadership on security status and improvements.

 
 
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Honour’s degree in relevant fields will be advantageous.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent (preferred).

 
Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related field.
• Experience with security tools like firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM platforms.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).

 
Skills & Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of threat analysis, malware prevention, and vulnerability management.
• Proficiency in network protocols, operating systems, and encryption technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to continuous learning and staying ahead of emerging threats.
