Johannesburg North: Fixed Asset Financial Administrator posted by Network Finance

My client is seeking a detail-oriented Fixed Asset Financial Administrator to take ownership of the company’s fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all asset-related processes.

This role plays a key part in supporting financial reporting, capex control, and asset management, while providing vital guidance to brand teams and assisting with fleet administration.

This is a 7-month contract role based in Sandton, Johannesburg North.

Key Responsibilities:
Fixed Asset Register Management

• Maintain and ensure the completeness and accuracy of the fixed asset register.
• Prepare fixed asset transactions and reconciliations for review and approval.
• Run and submit depreciation journals for sign-off by the Accountant.
• Conduct asset-related analyses and contribute to monthly operational reporting.
• Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to brand-based fixed asset staff.

Fleet Management Support

• Assist with the administration and maintenance of fleet records.
• Manage escalations and follow up on outstanding fleet-related matters.
• Support ad hoc fleet administration activities as required.

Query Resolution

• Monitor and manage Fresh Service queries to ensure timely resolution within two days.
• Provide guidance on ad hoc asset-related queries from brand teams.
• Source and provide required documentation to both internal and external auditors.

Capex Support and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures in all capex and asset-related processes.
• Support the execution of ad hoc financial projects and initiatives.
• Assist with the capex application process and ensure accurate documentation.
• Deliver training and support to staff involved in the capex and fixed asset function.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• BCom degree in Accounting.
• 3 years experience in an Accountant role.
• Solid understanding of fixed asset accounting and general accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide support and training.
