Johannesburg: Principal Engineer

About the role Our client is seeking a dedicated Principal Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities within the Solar Energy sector. 🔧 What Youll Do Lead and manage the design, specification, and implementation of electrical systems for major projects. Oversee electrical engineering deliverables including schematics, layouts, single-line diagrams, and load calculations. Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements. Conduct technical reviews, site inspections, and system testing. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, civil, and project management teams to deliver integrated solutions. Your primary duties will include leading a team of engineers, designing and implementing solar energy systems, and providing technical expertise for project development. 🧠What Were Looking For Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng / BSc) ECSA registration (Pr.Eng) or eligibility preferred. 7 years of experience in electrical design, construction, or commissioning. Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems (LV, MV, HV). Experience with AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar design software. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
