Western Cape: Actuarial Analyst – Pricing posted by Network Finance

Our client is a leading investment group specialising in non-performing debt acquisitions across South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana. They work alongside major names in banking, retail, telecoms, and financial services — unlocking value where others see uncertainty.
 
As an Actuarial Analyst, you’ll sit at the center of it all — designing models, pricing complex portfolios, and generating insights that shape board-level strategy. This is the ideal role for someone analytical, commercially minded, and ambitious to see their work directly influence major investment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform portfolio valuations and pricing analysis for non-performing debt portfolios.
• Develop and enhance financial models using DCF, machine learning, Markov-chain models, and runoff triangles.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses and build proxy portfolios to assess risk and return dynamics.
• Design valuation scorecards and lead the automation of pricing workflows.
• Analyse large datasets to identify KPIs that guide investment strategy.
• Partner with investment executives to deliver actionable pricing recommendations.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline
• Experience:
  • 3+ years’ experience in financial modelling, valuations, or credit risk analytics
  • Strong foundation in valuation methodologies, credit risk, and data analytics
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R and advanced Excel
  • Confident working independently in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
