Job Description
Our Client has a state of the art AgriTec Farming and Distribution facility based in the East Rand, Gauteng, supplying top quality fruits and vegetables to the main Retailers’and QSR Distribution Centres and smaller independent retailers. Their operations value chain extends from Agriculture to Harvesting to Packaging and Distribution.
Location: East Rand Gauteng
Reporting to: General Manager
Travel: Yes, within the location of the Client DCs; and from time to time nationally
Job Purpose
Our Client is looking for a Commercial Sales Manager who, together with a small team of Sales Representatives, is responsible for ensuring the ongoing service delivery expectations to existing key accounts in accordance with the Service Delivery Agreement is met. And the incumbent is responsible for new business development expansion of markets/customers/new channels/New products e.g. own farmstall, e-commerce.
Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities will include the normal duties bestowed upon a Sales Manager not limited to only the duties set out hereinafter:
- Tracking of daily, weekly, monthly performance stats to SLA such as:
- Orders v Retail plan
- Orders v Delivery per customer
- Orders v GRN by customer
- Sales MoM and YoY per customer
- Checking in with Logistics on accuracy of daily orders for all customers
- Checking customer cost prices to ensure accuracy.
- Offering all customers extras every morning after daily stock taking.
- Daily checking of market prices to ensure alignment with the correct price from Retailers.
- Ensuring customer orders are based on the Farms Growing Programme (GP).
- Ensuring handover of daily orders to the Production Manager.
- Submission of daily shortfall to all retailers before 11h00.
- Daily submission of delivery schedule for customers like Pick n Pay Delivery centre.
- Assist Production in prioritizing customer base on daily short.
- Reporting daily sales to the CEO
- Checking total orders vs Sales.
- Assisting packaging store with weekly orders.
- Daily meetings with different buyers from different retailers.
- Ensure market growth of 10% minimum per year.
- Increase client portfolio of the farm.
- Find solutions for selling in a most responsible manner for 2nd grade and extra products.
- Ensure achievement of budget.
- Manage P&L
- Negotiate maximum prices with Retailers and other Customers.
- Source new business development opportunities that may include new markets, new customers, new products, new channels (Company owned farm-stalls, e-commerce, etc)
- Marketing initiatives associated with marketing the Clients products and services
Job Responsibilities
- Relevant degree or related tertiary qualifications
- At least 5 to 10 years sales experience in the FMCG industry with B2B sales, with preference for experience in selling and marketing fresh produce to retailers with networks in the respective Retailers Distribution Centres and at Head Office.
- At least 2 years supervising a small sales team
- A proven sales track record in FMCG or related industry
Remuneration
- Basic of R50K which will be reviewed after probation period
- The person will get a cellphone allowance of R1,200 for sales it is higher
- Equivalent of 120litres of diesel per month, depending on function
