Job Description
- Account Management – Ensure sustainability and growth of a specific account/accounts by conducting the following activities
- Sales development into target market – Retain and expand business to grow sales and profit margins to achieve business objectives
- Technical Services – Ensure existing applications and equipment are maintained and technical services are performed to ensure optimal performance
- Marketing support – Ensure that the sales efforts are aligned with the marketing strategy
- SHERQ Management – Maintain and improve SHERQ performance to deliver targeted sales at the lowest possible risk to the company.
- Continuous Improvement and Project Management Support – Support the Account Manager in identifying, managing and implementing Continuous Improvements and Projects
- Accurate chemical application to cooling water systems, liquid solid separation, boiler water systems and other chemical application as required
- Laboratory and on site chemical evaluation related to chemical performance in water systems and liquid solid separation
- Accurate interpretation of water chemistry related to chemical application
- 100% continuity of chemical supply, inclusive of deliveries and housekeeping.
- Strict adherence/compliance with customer standards/required results, chemical and plant related.
- Accurate budget and general administration
What You’ll Need
- Degree or Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Chemistry/ Biochemistry / Microbiology / Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant technical sales experience with relevant tertiary chemical qualification, or 10 years relevant experience.
- 2 years’ experience in a sales & service environment related to the general water treatment industry.
- Experience in polymer application to solid/liquid separation will be an added advantage.
- Must have dealt with customers on a direct contact basis
- Must have written service reports and discussed them in-depth with the customer
- Must have done internal service inspections of related equipment at customer’ sites
- Must have conducted site meetings/discussions with all levels of customers on site, – from Engineer to operator.
- Valid driver’s license
- MS Office Suite
What’s In It for You
- Basic Salary : R25 000 pm (negotiable based on experience and the right skills set)
- Travel Allowance : This allowance is salary band based (approximately R14 000 pm)
- Cell Phone allowance: R450 pm
- 3G / Broadband allowance: R428 pm
- 13th Cheque / Discretionary Performance Bonus equal to the basic salary
- Medical Aid: Company to contribute 50% of the Discovery Essential Saver plan and employee contributes 50% – (assuming that this will cover the member, spouse and up to 3 kids)
- Medical Aid Gap Cover – of R373 pm (being company cost to take care of associates medical costs in cases where the cost for in-hospital procedures or outpatient treatment exceeds the base medical aid rate)
- Provident fund: Company to contribute 7.5% of basic salary and employee is required to contribute a minimum of 7.5%.

- This is a fast-paced, client-facing role requiring professionalism and strong leadership.
- The successful candidate must be prepared to travel extensively, must be physically fit and able to work alone at physically challenging plants on surface.

- You must be able to communicate at all levels, be organized and self-disciplined.
