Job Description
- Business Development – drive business growth, market expansion
- Oversee the prudent utilization of the budget, assets and other resources to ensure accountability (budget management, driving cost control, and reviewing financial performance)
- Zambia experience, other African countries will be advantageous
- Oversee the handling, storage and use of explosives in mining operations
- Ensure compliance with Zambian mining regulations, including explosives handling and safety standards
- Ensure safe and compliant blasting
- People management
- Project management – delivery of projects within the approved budget and timelines
- Stakeholder management – oversee stakeholder engagement strategies and maintain effective relationships with customers, government regulators, partners and communities
- Provide expert technical guidance
- Implement effective systems to identify and mitigate business risks to ensure they are kept within acceptable levels
Qualifications and experience:
- Mining/Explosives Engineering
- Over 12 years’ experience in mining/explosives
- Over 10 years in a leadership role
- International experience in Africa, especially for multinational companies would be an advantage
