Job Description
Client Relationship Management
- Build, maintain, and strengthen strategic relationships with existing clients across South Africa.
- Act as the primary technical and commercial point of contact for client accounts, providing expert support and solutions tailored to their needs.
- Conduct regular client visits, reviews, and feedback sessions to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Market & Industry Mapping
- Conduct detailed market research to identify growth opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive dynamics in the high-volume manufacturing and packaging industries.
- Develop and execute a clear market penetration strategy to increase the company’s share of wallet with existing clients and secure new business.
Sales & Business Development
- Drive sales of high-volume manufacturing solutions, equipment, and/or services, meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Generate and qualify leads, prepare proposals, and negotiate contracts in line with company policies.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including technical presentations, tender submissions, and closing agreements.
Technical Expertise & Support
- Leverage your mechanical engineering knowledge to understand client requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Prepare accurate tenders, quotations, and costing agreements in alignment with company objectives and client expectations.
- Provide input into product development and improvement initiatives based on customer feedback and market insights.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering degree or Similar Degree
- Proven experience as a Sales Engineer in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with a track record of developing client relationships and delivering sales growth.
- Strong exposure to the packaging industry will be a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in tenders, costing, and commercial negotiations.
- Excellent understanding of the South African manufacturing and industrial landscape.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, CRM tools, and basic financial modelling.
- Willing and able to travel nationally as required.
- Based in the East Rand, with a valid driver’s license and own transport.
