• Manage and supervise workshop staff including mechanics, technicians, and assistants
• Plan and allocate daily work schedules to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency
• Provide technical support and diagnostic solutions for mechanical and gearbox-related issues
• Oversee gearbox bench work including stripping, assessing, repairing, and assembling gearboxes
• Conduct quality control checks on all completed jobs before delivery
• Perform vehicle and gearbox diagnostics using appropriate tools and equipment
• Ensure adherence to safety, housekeeping, and operational standards within the workshop
• Monitor job cards, workflow, and turnaround times, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and management on technical matters, progress updates, and quotations
• Provide training, mentorship, and support to junior technicians and apprentices
• Assist in cost control, productivity tracking, and workshop performance reporting

Requirements:

• 5–10 years’ experience in the motor industry (essential)
• Mechanical Diploma / Certificate / Red Seal Trade Test (Motor or Diesel Mechanic)
• Proven experience in gearbox bench work and drivetrain repairs
• Strong background in diagnostics and fault-finding
• Experience working on trucks and commercial vehicles (advantageous)
• Solid technical understanding of mechanical and transmission systems
• Valid driver’s licence
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Motor Industry experience Essential!!
