South Africa: Software Engineer (Backend-leaning Fullstack) – Hybrid posted by Recruitpro Solutions

Our client is a data-driven technology company working across Python, TypeScript, Rust, Java and PHP. They build internal tools, backend services and APIs that support data-heavy systems. They are looking for a backend-leaning fullstack developer who is adaptable, enjoys solving problems and can work across different languages as needed. This is a hybrid role based in Modderfontein, with three days per week in the office.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs and system components

• Work with data flows, processing logic and integrations

• Assist with fullstack development where required

• Debug, optimise and improve existing systems

• Collaborate with the engineering team to deliver reliable solutions

• Contribute to technical problem-solving and feature planning

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience working with Python, Typescript, Java, Rust and PHP

• Strong understanding of backend development, APIs and data structures

• Able to work across multiple languages and adapt to different project requirements

• Degree required: BSc Computer Science, BSc Information Technology, BCom Informatics or BSc Informatics or similar.
