About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in Roads and Earthworks to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will have 7-15 years of proven experience in estimating within established construction companies, with a preference for those who have worked with major contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate tender estimates for Roads & Earthworks projects.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and contract documentation to compile Bill of Quantities (BOQs).
- Conduct cost analysis and provide value-engineering alternatives.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and prepare comparison schedules.
- Use Candy (CCS) for estimating and programming inputs.
- Collaborate with engineers, quantity surveyors, and project managers to ensure robust and competitive pricing.
- Contribute to tender handovers and assist execution teams with cost data.
Requirements
- 7-15 years of proven experience in estimating (Roads & Earthworks).
- Site-based exposure to roads and earthworks projects advantageous.
- Additional knowledge in dams, township infrastructure, bridges, or large-bore pipelines would be a plus.
Qualifications
- BSc / BTech Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying preferred.
- Equivalent hands-on estimating experience will also be considered.
