Job Description: Senior Operations Controller
Position Overview:
The Operations Controller will oversee and manage the daily logistics operations of the company to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
- Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of goods, adhering to customer expectations and company standards.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure stock accuracy.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, cost efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Generate reports to identify trends, optimize operations, and support management decisions.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations, company policies, and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain high operational standards.
- Implement corrective actions when non-compliance or inefficiencies are identified.
- Team Coordination:
- Supervise and provide guidance to the logistics team, including drivers, warehouse staff, and dispatchers.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for operational queries and customer complaints.
- Collaborate with clients to address concerns and enhance satisfaction levels.
- Cost Control & Optimization:
- Optimize routes, resources, and processes to achieve cost efficiency.
- Technology & Systems:
- Utilize logistics management software and tools to streamline operations.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in logistics or operations management.
- Proven track record of managing logistics processes and teams.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., SAP, WMS, or TMS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience in budgeting and cost control.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments.
