• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items as directed by senior chefs.
• Perform basic food preparation tasks (chopping, marinating, portioning, mixing, etc.).
• Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently and meet presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workstation at all times.
• Follow all hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards (HACCP compliance).
• Assist in receiving, packing, and rotating stock (FIFO system).
• Support the team during service to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Report any shortages, equipment issues, or safety concerns to the Head/Sous Chef.
• Uphold portion control and minimise waste.
• Assist with washing up and general kitchen duties when required.

Requirements:

• Relevant culinary certificate or basic chef training (preferred).
• 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen (advantage, not always required).
• Knowledge of basic cooking methods, food handling, and kitchen hygiene.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Willingness to learn, take instruction, and grow in the culinary field.
