ROLE: We are seeking a to provide tailored support for a Grade 6 learner ( particularly Paper 1 (Language & Comprehension) and Paper 2 (Creative Writing & Literature). The tutor will help the learner develop greater confidence, improve understanding of grammar and vocabulary, and strengthen exam technique through structured, engaging lessons. Key Responsibilities Provide focused tutoring sessions aligned with the school curriculum (CAPS-based). Prepare the learner for Paper 1 (Taal & Begrip) and Paper 2 (Skryfwerk & Letterkunde). Reinforce core grammar (taalrels), spelling (spelling), and sentence structure. Build vocabulary through conversation, reading, and context-based exercises. Teach strategies for reading comprehension and written responses. Review past papers and assist with test preparation and revision. Track learner progress and provide feedback to parents and/or ECWA. Requirements Fluent Afrikaans speaker with excellent command of English. Strong grasp of Afrikaans First and Second Additional Language curriculum for Grades 47. Prior tutoring or classroom teaching experience with pre-teens (minimum 1 year). Ability to explain grammar and comprehension in simple, learner-friendly terms. Reliable, organised, and patient teaching approach. Available for regular weekly sessions, either online.
