Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field
• 7+ years’ experience in data governance, data management, or compliance leadership
• years plus in a leadership role
• Knowledge of data governance tools (AWS Glue Data Catalog, Collibra, Alation, etc.)
• Deep understanding of POPIA, GDPR, and data privacy regulations
• Familiarity with AI governance and ethical AI practices
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement enterprise Data and AI Governance frameworks
• Define data ownership, stewardship, and classification policies
• Ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards
• Oversee data quality, lineage, and metadata management
• Collaborate with engineering and AI teams to embed governance controls
• Promote data literacy and accountability across the organisation
