The Role: Marine & Cargo Insurance Specialist This role exists to drive the growth of a new marine and freight-forwarding insurance division. You’ll lead the development of a client base, deliver technical insurance solutions, and support marine claims all while working closely with underwriters and logistics partners. Key Responsibilities Minimum 35 years’ experience in marine, cargo, or logistics insurance Build and expand the marine and cargo insurance portfolio Identify and secure business from freight forwarders, exporters, transporters, and logistics providers Conduct detailed marine risk assessments (e.g. commodity, voyage, packaging) Present and negotiate insurance solutions, including GIT, Marine Cargo, Stock Throughput, and Freight Liability Build strong relationships with marine underwriters and insurers Advise clients on Incoterms, liability exposures, and claims processes Support marine claims and assist with required documentation About You 3 years in marine, cargo, or logistics-related insurance Strong understanding of marine risk, Incoterms, and liability structures Skilled in client engagement, technical solutioning, and insurance sales Confident managing claims and advising on documentation Proactive, analytical, and comfortable in a start-up-like environment Advantageous: Knowledge of Marine Hull or related high-complexity risks If you’re looking to take ownership of a new division and bring your marine insurance expertise into a strategic, client-facing role this is your next step.
